I went to a functional medicine person and learned more about how my specific body worked. I started to eat with the goal to be pain free. Then a few months ago, I was feeling so much pain, headaches, back pain, foggy thinking - things like that. Changing my diet with the focus to lose weight only made it worse! Adding more exercise only made me hungrier! I didn't like putting on weight, but nothing I seemed to do 'out there' helped. I struggled internally with my image of myself. Often, the meaning we make is elusive or just completely abstract to other people.įor years I have slowly put on pounds. That is how we are designed, we (humanity) make meaning for ourselves. But it wasn't significant to anyone else.
